A Christmas Filled with Gratitude
December 27, 2021
Hickory Creek of Athens has such a loving and caring community here in The Plains. We feel privileged to serve each individual in our facility with the highest level of care and are overcome with gratitude to see this kind of commitment we show to our residents spread outside our walls too. Thank you to everyone who's worked hard to make sure our residents have a very Merry Christmas.
We've had so many community members and organizations donate to our facility this holiday season. We'd like to give a big shoutout to Piggly Wiggly for sponsoring a Giving Tree for some of our residents, Alberta Burke and Heather Figueroa from the Plains VFW Auxillary for getting gifts for our Veterans. Merchants National Bank donated beautiful poinsettias to help decorate our facility. They also are the Secret Santa to three of our residents. Susan Jennings and The Athens Garden Club made beautiful Christmas centerpieces and decorations that make the facility feel comforting and festive.
Rosanna Dillard donated several gifts of Mary Kay products, mugs, and soaps for our residents. Dortha Kolbe handmade beautiful lap blankets to donate. The Knapp family donated bags of gifts and goodies in memory of Milton and Anne Knapp. Connie Walker and her grandchildren made adorable ornaments for our residents to decorate the trees. Stephanie Boyers and the Scioto Darby Elementary School students sent Care Cards with thoughtful and loving messages to our residents. TS Tech donated enough blankets for each resident. Shrivers Hospice sent Santa to visit and pass out goody bags.
Everyone at Hickory Creek has been touched by the generous donations and love our community has for our residents. You've helped make this a wonderful holiday season for each resident and brought a smile to their face. We can't thank you enough for making this Christmas so special. We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday!
