Hope Fest Event at the University of Rio Grande

March 23, 2022
We are so proud of our very own Courtney Doles, Marketing Director of Hickory Creek of Athens, for her involvement and donation to the 2022 Hope Fest event! She exemplifies our Culture of Care principle by giving her full heart in everything she does, inside and outside of the facility.

Hope Fest is a new event at the University of Rio Grande, happening on April 23 and will also include the 6th Annual Out of the Darkness Walk. There will be activities, vendors and food trucks set up that day.

Courtney has already donated 60 water bottles to the organization and shared, “As a Rio Grande Alum and someone whose family and friends have been impacted by suicide, it’s an honor to make a contribution and raise awareness for this cause.”

There are many opportunities to be involved. You can sponsor a luminaria in honor of someone lost to suicide, struggling with mental health, or show your support for mental health awareness. The goal this year is to light up 10,000 luminarias on the rugby field. Luminarias can be sponsored online or on campus.

You can also participate in the Out of the Darkness Campus Walk, which is the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) signature student fundraising series, designed to engage youth and young adults in the fight to prevent suicide, the second leading cause of death among people ages 15-24.
